My Thoughts

I saw this pop up on Steam when it was released and I decided to go in blind on this one, I took a look at the screenshots and thought it looked pretty fun, it looked like it could be something similar to Motorstorm so I bought it and gave it a go.

Motorstorm this game is not, Mad Riders is an extremely fast and extremely arcadey racer. The tracks in this game have huge jumps, twists, long sweeping curves, shortcuts and all sorts and with the speed that you travel at it really is a challenging game.

Mad Riders’ visuals are very nice, this isn’t a top-notch title but the developers really have worked hard on the visuals and because of this the game offers some very vibrant and pretty environments, it’s not just mud and dirt. You will find yourself racing through beautiful rainforests as the colourful environment shoots past you.

Another great plus for us PC gamers is that this game contains a wide array of graphics options, you have pretty much everything you’d expect to get with a PC game, so you’re able to tinker about with the visuals as much as you like and not only that but the icing on the cake comes when you check out the multiplayer menu and find out that this game can be played over LAN, which is always a very nice addition to any PC game.

This game plays like the sort of game you’d expect to see on the Dreamcast, it’s a very quick, very over the top and a very arcade style racer and with this being said, this game might not appeal to everyone but for the cheap price that this is marked at on Steam you really would be silly to pass up such a fun racer.

The Good

– Detailed and open environments
– Very well designed tracks
– Fun, arcade racer
– Colourful visuals
– Can be played over LAN

The Bad

– Can become repetitive
– Multiplayer is usually very empty

Thanks for reading and good gaming.
