My Top 10 games of all time

Razor here, I thought I might compile my personal list of top 10 games of all time, this is my own personal list on my own personal taste in games.

Alright, lets get to it.

10- Red Faction (2001)

Red Faction
“BETTER RUN, MINER!”

Red Faction is in at number 10 for me because it was so memorable, being able to destroy the entire environment had never been done before in a game and hasn’t really been done in the way Red Faction did it ever since, couple the brilliant gameplay with a terrific story and this game was a great game to play when it came out.
I will always remember that opening scene with the miners and the guards in the mineshaft, classic.

9- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2003)

Vice City
GTA: Vice City was one of the first games I got for my PS2 when it was released (that along with Burnout 2 being my very first Ps2 game) and I just loved it from start to finish, that 80s style with the music, the cars and the characters was incredible and unforgettable experience.

8- Deus Ex (2000)

Deus Ex
Deus Ex.. What’s a top 10 list without Deus Ex in it, most people class Deus Ex as the greatest game of all time, while I can go along with that for me it wasn’t the ‘Greatest of all time’ it was however innovative and offered a Role-Playing experience unlike anything before it and I’ll always remember being savagely attacked for entering a female toilet.

7- Half-Life (1998)

Half Life
“Hey, catch me later I’ll buy ya’ a beer!”

Half-Life, one of the greatest story-driven games ever! I absolutely love the Half-Life series and I love Valve, this game holds so many great memories for me, me and my father often quote this game. It was difficult, it was scary, it was a real masterpiece of a game.

6- Unreal Tournament 2004 (2004)

UT2004
“M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!!!”

UT2k4, what a brilliant multiplayer game this was, back in the day I had an extremely successful Trials clan with over 70 members. This game is nowhere near as popular today as it used to be but back in the day this game was incredible.

5- Duke Nukem 3D (1996)

DN3D
“It’s time to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I’m all outta gum!”

Duke Nukem 3D, I do remember this very well from my childhood, watching my father play this and also playing it myself. The level design was brilliant the enemies were tough, the babes were rough and the humour was unmatched.
What a thrill this game was!

4- Crysis/Crysis: WARHEAD (2007/8)

Crysis
How can I not mention the brilliance of Crysis on my top 10, I love Crysis! The gaming world was just chugging along merrily until 2007 when Crytek unleashed this beast onto the PC, it would throttle your system to the max and even today it’s an extremely demanding game and is the base benchmark for anyone building a custom rig. The AI was silly, the aliens were deadly and the visuals are unmatched. Crysis is a must-have on PC for anybody who wants to experience how a game should be made.

3- Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna (2002)

DSLOA
The original Dungeon Siege with it’s Legends of Aranna expansion pack, oh hell yes! Before the time of DLC there were expansion packs, things that developers would actually craft into fully-fledged addons to a game! The original Dungeon Siege is brilliant, my father and I spent oh so many hours, days and weeks battling through the story over and over and over again over LAN. A brilliant game with brilliant weapons a brilliant story and a fantastic range of difficult enemies to boot.

2- Quake III Arena (1999)

Q3A
Q3A, the beast of all multiplayer First Person Shooters. Quake III Arena is one of my most loved games, I have been playing it since the day it was released, I adore it. The community for this game has been dying a little ever since id Software released Quake Live for beta testing, I was a part of the beta tests for that game and I only played it twice, it does not stand up to the original Quake III Arena and neither does any other multiplayer First Person Shooter.

1- Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now! (1998)

C2
“I was in the war!”

Anybody who knows me will know that I am an INSANE Carmageddon fan, I would go as far as to say I own the largest collection of Carmageddon related items in the world I love the franchise that much. Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now! was the first Carmageddon game I played.

I remember to this day the first time that my father let me play it; I was racing on one of the Beaver City levels and I was trying to waste Jenny Taylia in her Jetcar and I shouted out “Die! Stupid Jenny Taylia!” and my mother was shocked to hear me say such a thing, I had to explain to her that it was a character in the game.
I have added a ton of addon cars, tracks and other mods to this game and am currently working on a PSX mod that will recreate the entire PlayStation version of Carmageddon on Carmageddon II’s BRender engine.

I love the Carmageddon franchise, the modding community is fantastic and they’re extremely dedicated and some amazing things have been done with Carmageddon and Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now! and I’m so eagerly awaiting to play the upcoming Carmageddon: Reincarnation. Stainless Games never fail to deliver!

Those are my top 10 games of all time, the memories that these games have given me can never be duplicated and I enjoyed every second of them.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
